In this fictitious story written a couple of years ago, freedom was certainly lost and no 1 knew who they could trust any longer. Our constitution was no longer utilised and the government now controlled what was approved to be viewed on television and radio. Our national anthem was no longer sung and a lot of our history was forgotten. People could no longer speak out publicly or protest in any way.
The military now ran the country with a stern fist. What our forefathers had fought for was no longer honored or remembered. The military were now the ones with the funds as well as the nation’s farmers who assumed control of all the food they developed. There is a wide gap among the wealthy and the poor. The president is now appointed by the military for a lifelong term and the flag we respected no longer flies.
Fortunately, there are minutemen like Andrew Durant who recognize the factors that are wrong in the country. He and others like him have to meet in secret so as not to be caught and punished. Durant is an educated man with a law background. He could have simply survived in this oppressive form of government. He chose to assist rescue his country from the negative rulers. The patriotic minutemen never ever know who they can trust. The socialism, that had diminished their rights, had also slipped into a Communistic style of dictatorship. As years went by, the freedom seekers who remembered the past freedoms than they had enjoyed, took constant odds and a lot of of them had been found and punished or even killed for their beliefs.
Andrew saw numerous of his countrymen put to death and he came close to getting found by the wrong men and women. His family members is separated from him for safety as he is infiltrated into the military where he is given a powerful position. The military continues to lessen freedoms beneath the minuteman’s secret strategy to additional restrict freedoms in order to lead to a revolt of the individuals. Food rations are cut and citizens are asked to sacrifice much more.
Andrew, in his high military position, earns the trust of several of his opposition even though secretly supporting the minutemen. There had been many who he didn’t know if they were buddy or foe. They may even try to kill him. It was a harmful time. He wondered if it would ever be safe once again in America.
It may be challenging for you to picture that an author writing in 1952, could envision a future so bleak. Could this ever take place soon after so many past patriots have sacrificed so considerably? They helped to create a country of incredible freedom. Do you think we are on the right political path today? Are we in danger of evolving into the life and occasions of an Andrew Durant? Feel about it and though this had a content ending, a comparable outcome could 1 day occur right here.
